Ecological Design Lab, Toronto Metropolitan University

The Ecological Design Lab is leading a three year research project, in partnership with five universities, focusing on developing an integrated approach for sustainable planning, design and implementation of human and ecological connectivity for infrastructure. Primarily looking at urban environments and the human scale within them, the project seeks to improve relationships with all creatures.

(In 2018, Sheila participated in a 2 day session with the City of Edmonton to advise on urban design green infrastructure for a future neighbourhood. She also arranged for and participated in The Meadoway collaborative session for Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, with Perkins + Will. Previously, while at the City of Toronto, she supported the development of WET Infrastructure II: Building Blue and Green handbook series. She remains an ongoing collaborator).
