Coral Mackay
Cultural Advisor, BA
Coral is a proud member of the K’ómoks First Nation, born and raised in the K’ómoks community, where she currently resides. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Indigenous Studies and Public Administration from the University of Victoria and works as an independent consultant supporting Indigenous-led initiatives, primarily in communications, policy development, planning, and research.
A former elected Councillor for K’ómoks First Nation, Coral brings senior-level experience in governance, strategic planning, and community engagement. During her tenure, she contributed to strengthening governance structures, advancing Indigenous rights and title, and supporting community-driven initiatives grounded in transparency, self-determination, and shared values. Her work is rooted in building respectful, collaborative relationships that reflect and uphold community priorities.
Over the past five years, Coral has worked across a range of Nation-driven initiatives, supporting projects related to governance, infrastructure, housing, and community development. She brings both strategic and cultural insight to her work, helping teams navigate complex processes while keeping community priorities at the centre.
