Regina North Central Revitalization Plan, SK

SpruceLab works with Smoke Architecture alongside the City of Regina to develop a neighbourhood revitalization plan that is comprehensive and communicates the visions and goals of the community. We are also working with local planner Ahnes Studio and Métis Architects, SOLO Architecture Studio. Regina’s North Central neighbourhood is one of the city’s oldest and largest neighbourhoods, spanning over 180 square blocks. The goal for this revitalization plan is to support and strengthen the existing culture and communities in the area while providing safe and accessible resources to tackle existing challenges. By supporting community and Indigenous engagement and planning, we are able to gather a thorough insight into the cultural, sustainable and accessible needs of people living within the community. Community services, recreation facilities, health and healing spaces and parks are a few examples of what will be accessible to all residents living within and around the neighbourhood.

Our approach involves local communities (including a high percentage of Indigenous Peoples) having an integral part of this planning by gathering thoughts and input for the needs of local people through a series of engagement sessions. More information about this project can be found here.
