Niagara College NextGen Greenhouse

SpruceLab is partnering with mcCallumSather to create a new net zero research greenhouse with some external glass walls, multipurpose rooms, a planting room, five growing zones, a vertical grow zone, and meeting rooms for Niagara College. SpruceLab will develop the landscape design (including Indigenous garden(s)) in consultation with Indigenous and other representatives from the college community (including students, faculty, and staff). Design ideas to be explored include urban agriculture/permaculture design, pollinator gardens, spaces for community gatherings, cultural practices and ceremony, the growing and harvesting of Traditional medicines, and interpretive, storytelling elements.
