Morningside Park, Toronto, ON

SpruceLab supported 4 Directions of Conservation Consulting Services and Stefan Bolliger and Associates Inc. on three Indigenous engagement design workshops for Morningside Park for Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, in June 2021. The interactive workshops were held virtually, and explored ideas about how park visitors should learn about the Mississauga Peoples (including oral histories), and recommendations on how and where this information should be displayed. Representatives from Curve Lake and Hiawatha First Nations attended all workshops, which followed cultural protocols. SpruceLab worked closely with Gary Pritchard to plan, organize and host the workshops, and co-wrote the summary report.

Currently, SpruceLab will be taking over completing the landscape architectural drawings started by Stefan Bolliger and Associates Inc., with Stefan Bolliger advising on the work. SpruceLab is leading the landscape architectural design through to contract documents for tender for Station 1, and to 30% DD for the other 4 stations.
